
History of the R.P. Amman Memorial Campership Awards
Robert P. Amman was a 4-H member who lived in Saugus, California and who loved the 4-H Summer Camp program. Robert was the Head Youth Director for the Los Angeles County 4-H Summer Camp in 1981 and he died in 1985 in Big Bear, California. In his memory, the Fund Trustees, David E. Lewis, Dennis DeYoung and Carrie Elks established the Robert. P. Amman Memorial Campership Fund have awarded camperships in the following years and dollar amounts:

The Robert P. Amman Memorial Campership Fund offers partial and full camperships up to a maximum of $225.00 per youth. The Los Angeles County 4-H Youth Program also applies for and may receive camperships from the LA Times Campership Fund and/or other resources.
